It's A Boy!!!

Introducing: Eliav Shlomo Sinclair, born March 18, 2006 at 10:52am, 7 lbs 14 ozs, 19.5"

Yes, indeed this is belated. Does that make me a poor chieftain member of the SinclarTribe? I could have reset the date on this thing to look like I posted it the day Eliav was born, but instead I'll be a man and admit to being a poor blogger.

So, at 3 weeks old now, Eliav is blossoming into a beautiful young man. His bris (circumcision) wounds have healed and he's just recently started opening his eyes much more for some serious "quiet alert" learning time. Still can't tell his eye color, but interestingly he seems to have a darker complexion than his hopelessly fair parents and sister. Perhaps he'll be one of the only living Sinclairs with a tan.

We're all doing great, really. Ilana's recovery has been much easier this time, from my perspective. She is really amazing, managing to let me sleep (or do homework) through many of the late night / early morning changing/feedings.

Tali seems to love her brother, constantly bringing him gifts and kissing him. She's trying to get the hang of what she can do to be helpful. For instance, from watching her parents, she knows it can be useful to rock Eliav in his car seat while saying "Shhhh!" So far, she's been doing this while he's asleep instead of while he's crying. She'll get there. Tali's also throwing many more tantrums these days. In some ways, we've destroyed her world. Obviously, the big picture is that we've saved her from only-childlihood (which I never particularly enjoyed). Click here for some video from when we first brought Eliav home.

Tali's amazing too, BTW. She's stringing together 2-word sentences these days, like "little baby" and "bye Abba (Daddy)". She can walk up all 3 flights of stairs to our apartment without any help, just by pulling up on the railings.

So, Thank G-d it looks like we're all doing as great as possible. We really appreciate all of the help, well wishes, cooked meals, and visits from our families and friends. Encourage me to keep this blog up-to-date!

Adam, keep this blog up to date! I LOVE the photos - have to admit, I feel a little like a voyeur, but you guys give me just the right dose of sunshine in my day :)

By the way, have you ever considered having Tali model? She's really a very attractive toddler (I'm sure Eliav will be too, but too early to tell at the moment). I know that might lead down a weird path if sustained long term, but she might still be at the age where she has no idea, and you could stop before she understands enough to let it affect her, and in the meantime, you might be able to sock away a bit for her college fund. Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there.
